The New Apostolic Church around the world organizes annual youth services to strengthen the youth in faith and fellowship. It is believed that the youth is the foundation of the church. The annual youth camp for the year 2017 has ended in Ghana.
The last of the three groupings was held at St. Mary’s Senior High School from 31st August to 3rd September 2017. This group covered the youth in the Takoradi, Koforidua and Nkawkaw Apostle Areas. The Apostles present were Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya, Apostle Boakye, Apostle Sam, and Apostle Asampong.
A myriad of activities were held for the youth which include talks, quizzes, sports competitions and a tour to the Naval Western Command. From the tour, the youth learnt some of the roles of the Ghana Navy are anti-smuggling, anti-poaching, evacuation of disaster victims, humanitarian assistance and many others.
The youth camp was climaxed with a divine service officiated by the Apostle Oppong-Brenya. He began with regards from the Chief Apostle and the District Apostle to the youth. The text word for the divine service was chosen from Proverbs 2:10 “When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;” The Apostle said the substantial blessings that follow wisdom and understanding are discretion and understanding which are deliverance from the lifestyle and punishment of wicked men. (Proverbs 2: 11-12). He further explained that knowledge also begins with the fear of God (Proverbs 1:7). He said the existence of God is a true fact (Genesis 1:1) and urge the youth not to follow the path of profane and vain babblers (2 Thess 3:2, 1Timothy 6:20-21). The Apostle admonished the youth to be strong in the Lord. He further admonished all present to strive to be wise in the Lord as Solomon did in his days.
The attendance recorded was 1,420.
