Music plays a major role in the doctrine of the New Apostolic Church. Music has proved itself to be extremely beneficial in the divine service time and time again because music is used to teach the gospel. The apostle Paul wrote to the saints: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom” Music is the pleasant sound (vocal or instrumental) that leads us to experience love, harmony and great happiness.
The current state of music in the Nkawkaw Apostle area may not be something to boast of although, there are church choir in few congregations within the apostle area.
Apostle Andrews Boakye who takes care of the Nkawkaw Apostle Area has drawn up a program to train more youths in music. He has put Shepherd Joseph Gyimah in charge to train about 36 believers both young and old in music. This initiative started in the year 2015 where participants were taught how to play the keyboard, conduct a choir, teach choir songs etc. The third phase of a training session was recently organized in April 2017 during the Easter season to boost the level of music within the apostle area.
Good music indeed has a wonderful power to excite, console, cheer and take our breath away. Yes music is life and it should have a great impact on the life of the church.
