Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya visited Asante-Akim and Mamponteng in the Konongo Apostle Area on the 22nd and 23rd April, 2017 respectively. Apostle George Annom Nortey is currently in charge of the Apostle Area.
At Asante-Akim, the divine service was held at Atiemo. The text for the divine service was chosen from John 12:27-28, “Now is my soul troubled, and what shall I say? Father save me from this hour but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying I have both glorified it and will glorify it again”.
Referring to Romans 8:38, the Apostle said neither death, nor life, nor principalities, nor power, nor things present, nor things to come shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The divine service was attended by 281 brethren
At Mamponteng Elder District, the divine service took place at Wadie Adumakaase. The text was Colossians 3:1, “If ye be risen with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, and not on the things on the earth”. The Apostle explained that the two cannot go together. To have one's motives above and below at the same time is impossible.
The Apostle was proud of the members, who by their own initiative were reconstructing their church building. The one provided by the Church has become old and the members have outgrown the church building. The divine service was attended by 251 brethren. A child was baptized and sealed by the Apostle.
