Apostle Ohene Saffo at the Altar
26 April 2017

16th April, 2017 - Easter Sunday divine service in Accra Central church was officiated by Apostle Benjamin Ohene Saffo. Present also were the Bishop, District Leaders from some of the district in the Apostle Saffo area as well as members from both Accra East and West Districts.
The occasion was though the remembrance of Christ Resurrection, it was also used to honour retired Apostle Kotei Afutu.

The text was taken from John 2:19, 22
Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.
Bible Reading: Matthew 28:1-8

The Apostle was pleased to meet brothers and sister in the house of God. “We have come before His altar to receive the blessing that is prepared only for His children.
That our soul can be able to grow up and that even if we die one day, we shall be able to make it into the kingdom of God.”

Apostle Saffo taught extensively on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He likened our body, the temple of God, to a seed. He explained that if the seed is broken into pieces it cannot germinate.

Concluding he said “we have an obligation to keep the temple of God holy. Everything we do has effect on the temple. If we allow the devil to break into, then we will not be able to rise up and our worship will all be in vain.”
Bishop Asare, District Elders Adjei and Kyere were also called to serve.

Retired Apostle Kotei Afutu honoured
After the church service, retired Apostle Peregrino Kotei Afutu and his wife were called to the front of the congregation.  Several presents from groups and individuals were given to both of them. For his dedicated 40 years - service to the church, a citation of appreciation in his honour was read to him.
