Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya conducted the eighth divine service for Ministers and their families at Sunyani his former working area. The divine service took place on Saturday 6th August for Sunyani, Duayaw Nkwanta, Dormaa, Drobo and Nsoatre Elder Districts.
The Apostle based his sermon on Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance”
The Apostle reminded the Ministers and families about the words of Moses the servant of God, to the children of Israel about their election. That the Lord has not chosen us because they are special people or have some certain numerical advantage, but because the Lord loved us and with the Apostles He wants to fulfill His covenant to save mankind through Christ.
He reminded the Ministers and their families not to be weary of the present day hardships and pressures of the world but stressed that to be saved from the hurtful sword or from wasting sickness, without deliverance from the dominion of sin and the wrath to come is but a small advantage.
He said plenty is desired from us that we may be thankful to God, generous to our friends and charitable to the poor to justify our election in Christ.
The Apostle referred to Deuteronomy 33:29 and said in God we have a ceaseless fountain of strength, protection, earthly blessing and eternal mercies and said the opposite will be the outcome if we failed to honor our election in Christ.
Three hundred and six Ministers and their families attended the divine service. Apostle Oppong-Brenya was accompanied by Apostle Moses Otchere Ayarkwa who takes care of the Sunyani Apostle Area.
