Apostle Nketia at the alter
30 July 2016

The divine service for Ministers and their families dominated the program of Apostle Oppong-Brenya for the year 2016. The Apostle wanted to reach as far as possible many Ministers and their families to strengthen their faith and to bring to their notice the vital role their families play in the work of salvation.
This time the divine service was held at Nyinahin for the Bibiani, Kwanfinfi, Nkawie and Nyinahin Elder Districts.
The text word for the divine service was taken from 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
The Apostle said none of the Ministers applied for ordination to the Ministry. He reminded the Ministers about the words of Jesus Christ, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and your fruit should remain,” John 15:16
He said our election was not as a result of our social standing, knowledge, or power but because God loves us, it was upon this love that He chose judges even though unworthy in the sight of the children of Israel, the Lord empowered them to deliver them from the hands of their enemies: Consider these judges:
Othniel the nephew of Caleb who defeated the King of Mesopotamia Judges 3:7-10
Ehud a left- handed man who defeated the Moabites Judges 3:12-15
Deborah a woman and a prophetess who through Barak defeated the King of Canaan Judges 4:1-4
Gideon a poor man, from the family of Manasseh, and the least in his father’s house by the grace of God he defeated the Midianites Judges 6:7-14
The Apostle said God knew each and everyone from the mother's womb and called us by His grace, to reveal His Son in us that we might preach Him among the heathen ref.  Galatians 1:15-16
He said everyone is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ, that we might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God ( ref Ephesians 4:7, Colossians 1:10)
Three hundred and fifty two Ministers and their families attended the divine service. Apostle Oppong-Brenya was accompanied by Apostle Benjamin Nketia who takes care of Kumasi Apostle Area.
