The choir at Ho
7 March 2016

Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya conducted the first Divine Service for the Departed of the year 2016 in Ho on the 6th of March.
Coincidentally, the day marks the 59th Independence Day Anniversary Celebration of Ghana in which many people perished as a result of struggle for independence.

He served with a passage from Luke 14:23.  “Then the master told the servant, ‘Go out into the streets and the lanes and make the people come in’, so that my house may be full”.

In his sermon the Apostle with the help of scriptural examples correlated the olden generations with today’s generation.
He remarked that:

When God out of his mercy had decided to save man from destruction at the time of Noah, because sin had engulfed the entire human race, they rejected the offer but rather made fun of the whole process. (Gen. 7:10-24)

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah, also hardened their hearts towards God’s offer of salvation. (Gen.18:23-32, 19:12-16)

The Son of God descended on earth and preached to the Jews even with miracles for three and a half years but then they hardened their hearts.

He made it clear that the attitude of the present generation is not different from the earlier generations amid the Apostles ministry  with open invitation yet man prefer the fortunes of this world to  salvation.

Even as the righteousness of Noah condemned the earth (Heb. 11:7)
So also the people of Nineveh and the Queen from the South will condemn this generation because Jonah preached for just forty days and the people of Nineveh accepted his invitation to repent, the queen travelled from the far south just for the wisdom of Solomon yet a greater than both is here. (Mat. 12:39-41, Luke 11:31-32)

He cautioned that we are not to give any excuses to the master’s invitation, just to satisfy our material needs at the expense of our salvation, (Luke 14:18-12).

He asserted that this invitation is thrown to all far and near, into Hell, from the altar of Grace by the Ministry of oneness - the Apostles Ministry. Accompanying Apostle Oppong-Brenya was Apostle Akubia.

After the closing prayer, the Lead Apostle remarkably stood in front of the altar and shook hands with all the seven hundred and thirteen (713) members who attended the divine service for the departed.

It was indeed a memorable day.
