Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya, officiated the youth divine service at Navorongo. He used Exodus 24:3-5 as the basis for the divine service. The Apostle dwelt much on verse 5 where stout young men with zeal offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord. He entreated the youth to show the same commitment and zeal in the salvation work of Christ under His Apostles. He mentioned among other young men in the old covenant like Joseph, David and Samuel. He described the following attributes of Joseph,
Personal Appearance, Joseph was well built and handsome in appearance but more beautiful was his heart which was pleasing to God. Gen. 39:6
His Promotion, Joseph stood before Pharaoh so discreet and wise and had his name changed by Pharaoh at the age of thirty years. Gen. 41:45-46
His Kindness, Joseph was kind to all fellow inmates and was always ready to interpret their dreams. Gen. 40:7-8
His Integrity, He refused the advances of Potiphar’s wife with the words “How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God”? Gen. 39:7-12
His Humility, “And Joseph answered Pharaoh saying it is not in me, God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace”. Gen. 41:16
His Piety, He named his sons Manasseh and Ephraim saying God has help him to forget all his toil and have made him fruitful in the land of affliction. Gen. 41:51-52
His Faith, “He said God sent me before you to preserve you a remnant in the earth and to save you alive by a great deliverance”. Gen. 45:5-8
A Prophet, “Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel saying God will surely visit you and ye shall carry up my bones from hence”. Gen 50:25. This prophecy was fulfilled in Exodus 13:19
