Ministers ready to welcome the Apostle
11 December 2021

Apostle George Anum Nortey, together with Bishop Charles Kesse, celebrated a Divine Service with the congregation at Tutuka (Obuasi district), on October 24, 2021. Other visiting ministers in attendance were the newly appointed District Rector, Kwame Agyakum as well as the Deputy District Rectors Collins Asamoah and George Mensah.

The bible text for the service was taken from Psalm 145:2-3, “Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.”

In Apostle Nortey’s opening remarks, he commended the congregants for supporting the Church in infrastructure maintenance and development, as they had installed ceramic floor tiles. He blessed them and encouraged them to do more for Christ.

Great things the Lord has done
“To God be the glory great things He has done...” This was the opening hymn sang by the choir. Befittingly, the Apostle began his sermon around the theme of the hymn: “We can count the mountains, the rivers, the sea, the forest and other visible creations which exhibit the presence of God. We can even testify of the great things the Lord has done in our daily lives. The air we breathe, the blood flowing through our veins...; our Lord has done a lot for us. Let all creations appreciate these and bless His Name always.”

Praising and worshiping our Lord

“‘Praise the Lord, praise the Lord…’ as choir opening hymn says, this is one of the forms of praising and worshiping God” continued the Apostle. “Our worshiping as members can also be shown by taking part in church activities, contributing to the growth of the Church, taking part in the ministerial work and joining the choir. Let us join in worshipping and praising God through the hymns we sing as well.”

Thanking our Lord
The Lord needs to be thanked; He has done a lot in our lives. “From January till now, if we refused to thank God, then we are ungrateful children. We thank God through our offerings we give, through our annual Thanksgiving. However, we need to continuously thank Him for His mercies and grace He has shown us through His Beloved Son. We must always thank God with a heartful attitude. Let us bless, praise and worship our Lord until He returns”, concluded Apostle Nortey.

During the service, seven souls were sealed. Apostle also introduced the new District Rector, Kwame Agyakum and two Deputy District Rectors, Collins Asamoah and George Mensah to the congregation.
