Apostle with the ministers and congregation at Bogoso
28 January 2022

The Bogoso District is bestowed with five congregations and on 23rd of January 2022, Apostle George Sam visited and held two divine services in two congregations at Bogoso and Oppon valley congregations.

Prior to the service, the Apostle, together with Community Evangelist Tulashie, visited the Apiatse community to commiserate with affected brothers and sisters following the huge explosion near the town of Bogoso. He also toured the community to ascertain the level of destruction that occurred on 20th of January 2022. The Apostle expressed his deepest condolence, prayed for the community and also the security and support personnel.

Trust in Him

The message the Apostle shared with the Bogoso congregation was based on Psalm 13:5-6 ‘But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.  I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.’

The Apostle cited that anyone who requests good things from God does it through prayers.  “What a friend we have in Jesus is a song we always sing, a Friend who carries all our sins and grief. But yet, we cannot carry everything to Him through prayer, in times of difficulties. Prayer is the only channel through which we can communicate with our Maker. God knows all our needs because He is our Father and our Friend as the song suggests.”

David cried to the Lord when he was in distress. Jesus prayed and cried unto the Lord, saying: ‘My God, My God why have you forsaken me’. These suggest that at all times we need to pray for God’s guidance and protection.

The Apostle ended by saying our protection comes from God and we must always turn to the Lord through prayers because prayer is the master key: “Jesus started with prayer and He ended with prayer”.  The Apostle was assisted by Community Evangelist Daniel Tulashie.

Believe in Christ

The second service took place at the Oppon Valley congregation. The text word for the service was based on Matthew 17:15-16, Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and into the water. So I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him’

The Apostle shared with the congregation the story of an epileptic man who had believed that Christ will heal him and based on this belief, he was healed after 30 years. The man did not share his problem with anybody but instead with Christ and at the end he was saved.

Apostle Sam also spoke about the belief of the woman who had bled for 12 years and believed that by just touching Jesus’ garment, she would be healed. She did and she was immediately healed. “If we do not believe in Jesus, we would never attain His glory” said the Apostle as he ended his service.

Apostle Sam was assisted by Priest Mensah and Priest Tweneboah.
