Brothers who were ordained as Priests and Deacons
2 February 2022

The 3rd Sunday of 2022 was joyous for members of the Kade congregation as they welcomed Apostle Andrews Boakye in a united joint service at the Kade congregation. Members from Nkwantanang, Abenaso, Akwatia and Okumaning congregations were in attendance.

The text word for the divine service was taken from 1 Corinthians 1:9, ‘God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord’.

Apostle Boakye said: “Fellowship with the triune God means we will see the Father. Before Jesus left the earth, He instructed His disciples to wait until the Holy Spirit comes to fill them, and once they were filled with the Holy Spirit, they will have power to preach the word of God. We have also received the Holy Spirit through our Apostles, let the fellowship from the Holy Spirit bring togetherness in our life. He stressed on the importance of divine service in the realization of this year’s motor ‘Together in Christ’.

Fellowship at divine services

When members of the congregation partake in Divine services, it brings about fellowship with the Triune God. We worship God in spirit and in truth for the joy of the Lord is our strength. He told the congregants not to give excuses when its time for divine services “because many are the blessings that emanate from divine services”. If we stay away from divine services, we limit our fellowship with the Triune God.

Fellowship with one another

Divine services bring fellowship and togetherness among members in the congregation. Members have the ability to meet with each other and share their faith and experience to encourage each other during trials and temptations. The dead are also encountered during divine services and it grants them the opportunity to receive forgiveness from God.

Temptations and trials

As Christians we will go through temptations and trials. Do not forget the name of the Lord during such trying times. Because it is the Lord who searches and knows the hidden things in the heart. The Lord is fighting for us and will always fight for us. Again, the Holy Spirit testifies that we are the children of God but we have to suffer with Him. The Spirit prays and intercedes on our behalf when we don’t even know what to say before God.

Apostle Paul was just like us, but Jesus called him and used him for the benefit of all believers. Apostle Boakye ended his sermon by saying, “Let us not return to the dust from which he picked us but remain in fellowship with our Lord Jesus so that our motto for the year, Together in Christ, will be a reality”.
