Battor district in the Volta South Apostle area was blessed as the Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo, responsible for Southern Ghana, Benin, and Togo, officiated a divine service on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Aveyime congregation. He was accompanied by Apostle Anthony Kuada (Volta South Apostle area) and Apostle Richard Senyo Osei (Volta Central Apostle area). The District Rector Thomas Afun also assisted in the service.

About 150 souls who attended the service were served based on the text word 2 Corinthians 1:18,For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

“The Lord is our light and our salvation, whom shall we fear? The Lord is the strength of our life, of whom shall we be afraid? In everything that we do, there is someone that is greater than everything in the world and He can lead us through our journey in this life; if only we believe. As long as we believe, the Lord will surely be on our side” said the Lead Apostle as he began the service.

The Lead Apostle reiterated the fact that one has to believe in the words which are spoken at the altar the grace so as to gain the salvation which we seek. He said: “You believe because you have heard. Whatever you believe in, whatever you trust in, and whatever you understand, is because you heard it and by hearing, you believed it.”

He continued: “Not until you come to Jesus and believe in the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ, you cannot have your salvation. The words we hear are power and are about the preaching on the cross. The preaching on the cross is salvation to those who believe. If only you believe in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection and the preaching on the cross, you will have salvation.”

The Lead Apostle added that nothing can save those who are perishing until they believe in the power of God: Jesus Christ and His words. He also encouraged the congregants to develop the attitude of sacrifice and to give their offerings generously so as to attract God’s blessings, as he concluded.
