Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene- Saffo paid a working visit to the Volta North Apostle Area from 22nd to 24th July 2022. During this visit he conducted two divine services; in the Likpe and Vakpo Districts.
On Saturday July 23rd, 2022, the Lead Apostle served about 158 members at the Bowiri Amanfrom congregation in the Likpe District.
The divine service was based on a bible word from 1 Corinthians 2:12 “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”
“Whenever we gather together, there is a binding force; that is the love of God. It brings us into a family unit. We want to remain in this love till the day of the Lord. Yes, we know not how it shall be, but we prepare for a glorious future. No one should be left behind. When He appears, we know we shall be like Him” remarked the Lead Apostle in opening the service.
Elaborating on the bible word, the Lead Apostle drew a spiritual parallel to the physical and spiritual birth. “When one is born into a family, he inherits the family features. The speech and general conduct could be traced to a family line. There is a resemblance between child and parents in various aspects”. “Similarly”, the Lead Apostle continued, “we are reborn out of water and the Spirit. We are born into the heavenly family- a rebirth from above. By this we received the Spirit from above. Now we must exhibit heavenly features”.
“But the question is: Which spirit works in you?” he quizzed. The Lead Apostle further stated that, each one ought to examine himself – words, thoughts and deeds - thoroughly in the light of the word. This he said, will help one to effectively resemble the Father in Heaven. “If we have the Spirit from above, then we ought to resemble our Father in words and in deeds”.
The Lead Apostle enumerated some characteristics of our Father, which are the fruits of the Spirit from above, as love, peace, joy, forgiveness and longsuffering.
Concluding the sermon, the Lead Apostle admonished members to allow the Spirit from above to define our way of life so we do not conform to the world. “Dear brothers and sisters, he who wants to be with Jesus Christ must emulate him. This comes into effect through the spirit from above the Holy Spirit. Let us allow Him to teach us and imbibe in us the features of our Father. Let the power of the earthly spirit – our natural family characteristics, the old Adam – dwindle in us. Only then can our rebirth out of water and the Spirit take dominion and manifest itself in our daily lives. Let us examine our daily lives; which spirit is in you? The spirit of the earth or the Spirit from above?” he concluded.
The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostle Timothy Akubia, District Rectors Eric Arhin and Alexander Poku-Akubia.
