Little Hammah-Apprey in anticipation of her Holy Sealing
18 October 2022

On the occasion of the Lead Apostle’s service to the brothers and sisters in the Cape Coast Apostle Area, on the first weekend of October 2022, the Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya conducted his second thanksgiving service of the day on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Cape Coast Central church. This was after he had conducted a similar service earlier in the Assin Fosu Central Church.

The Bible word for the service was read from Psalm 145: 2-3; “Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.”

A time for giving and dedication
Lead Apostle drew attention to the plan and time of everything and why the congregation was presenting its thanksgiving offering to God on the day. He then called on their indulgence to dedicate the congregation’s new altar. Highlighting the essence of thanksgiving, the Lead Apostle said: “We do not offer thanksgiving because of our needs and requirements.” He averred that because of challenges and difficulties the congregation might offer reluctantly, “but we give the thanksgiving offering as believers because of the blessings and power of God.”

Believers’ thanksgiving offering and blessing
The Lead Apostle explained that our blessings come from the offerings we make from the results of our hard work, to help the Church. Inspired by the text word, the Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya counselled that “when you are blessing someone you dedicate everything to him,” and further stressed that God first blessed man in the beginning. “The Lord thus, humbled Himself to man as He breathed into Him.” “When you are blessing someone, do so in humility and respect to that person.”

The greatness of God
According to Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya, David blessed the Lord for recognising the greatness of God in the creation. “As the Lord entrusted all the creation into the care of man, we grasp that as a sign of His love, since nothing was taken from the creation for Himself. The Lord also saw to it that all that He has created was good, otherwise, He would not have given it to man. And so in the love of God do we bless and praise Him, as we have been found worthy to be entrusted with all His creation.”

The Lead Apostle in concluding the service said David glorified the Lord because of His great mercies. We also see the love of God in His exceeding mercies and thereby do glorify Him. “We all have challenges but we should not let the struggles of life prevent us from giving our thanks offering, for in that we demonstrate our love to God. The Lord blesses those who bless Him. We offer out of joy and not in sorrows.”

The Lead Apostle ordained 4 Priests and 2 Deacons for the Cape Coast district, whiles Priest Adjei retired after 36 years of ministering. There were also some souls were also sealed during the service.
