A section of the Hohoe Central Sunday School perform a song
14 January 2023

For the children in our congregation in Hohoe, 2022 could not have been climaxed any better. With what is to become an annual event, Sunday School teachers made sure the children had a splendid time to entertain members on the last day of 2022.  Children from Ve-Koloenu and Liati-Dafornu congregations were invited and participated in the event.

Opening the event, Deputy District Rector for Hohoe, Solomon Gottah, expressed delight at the level of preparation and the joy with which the teachers had put the children through the lessons for the afternoon event. He stated that, the event is the beginning of what would become an annual calendar in the Hohoe District as a whole. This the District Rector emphasized, is aimed at building the future of the church through fellowship of the Sunday school.

Under the leadership of their teachers, the children entertained the audience with bible recitals, poetry, drama, singing and choreography. This elicited rapturous applause from the audience in appreciation. Also providing some melodious renditions were the Hohoe Central choir, the Men’s Choir and the Women’s Choir.

The Sunday School children were also at hand to spice up the occasion with their musical talents via the trumpet, violin and the piano.

In his address, Apostle Timothy Akubia praised parents, Sunday School teachers and the children for the successful event. He congratulated the children for the wonderful lessons brought forth by their performances. The Apostle stated that the activities give a glimpse of hope for the church in the future. He encouraged all to endeavour to provide the necessary support as may be required in future planning and organization of these activities.
