On Thursday January 26, 2023, the New Apostolic Church led by Lead Apostles Benjamin Ohene-Saffo and Samuel Oppong-Brenya, presented a cash donation of thirty thousand (30,000) Euros to Chance for Children (CFC) at their Drop-in Center situated at Abossey Okay, close to Agbogbloshie, a popular market in Accra.

Speaking at the donation, Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya said christianity is based on love. Accordingly, our quest to fulfil Jesus’ commandment “Love for your neighbour as yourself” inspires the Church to see the need to cater for these children and help get them off the streets.

Upon receiving the donation on behalf of CFC, Daniel Awuley Nartey, the Director in-charge of the Drop-in Centre at Agbobloshie, Hebron Home and Street Drop, expressed his appreciation to the New Apostolic Church. He revealed that the donation has been timely as Chance for Children would be seeking to;

  • Care for more street-connected children, groom them into good citizens of Ghana and the world
  • Re-integrate most children back into their families
  • Expand to two (2) new locations in Takoradi and Dambai with the aim of being closer to where the needs of children on the streets are more severe after they migrate to the south
  • Cover expenses for supporting staff and volunteers

Chance for Children, a non-profit organization for street-connected children, currently cares for over three thousand (3,000) children all over Ghana. They have a drop-in-center at Agbogbloshie, and a home situated at "Hebron", a border town between the Greater Accra and Eastern Regions, housing in excess of seventy (70) children.
