Lead Apostle in a handshake with some members and guests after the divine service

Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya held a special divine service at Techiman Central Church in the Techiman Apostle Working Area on Sunday 19th February, 2023, where he spoke about looking beyond our earthly bodies but rather seeking things that edify our beings as earthly temples of God.

The Northern Ghana leader spoke based on 2 Corinthians 5:1-2, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven”.

“God has never failed His covenants with our forefathers”, began the Northern Ghana leader. “He told Noah and the prophets that once Heaven and earth existed, day and night will never pass away, rainy and dry seasons will as well not pass away and we are all witnesses to that.  The past 24 hours have expired and if we are to render accounts of yesterday, we would already be guilty of our deeds”.

The Leader added that we cannot pick anything from tomorrow, because tomorrow is not guaranteed as we cannot tell the future. “We have been granted today, we cannot postpone it and thus If we have anything to do, it must be now. Anything can change within a twinkle of an eye. Let us rejoice and praise God for the loving grace and mercies He has given us”, he said.

He continued: “Christianity has reached a very difficult stage where a lot of forces oppose the gospel and doctrine of Jesus. But none can eliminate Christianity, however, there will be very hard times in the latter days as prophesied by Jesus. And it is for this reason our Lord Jesus Christ sought the intervention of God to enable us stand firm in these terrible times.”

God granted man three things: the body, soul and spirit. The spirit and soul eats from above whereas the body eats from below, he explained. “Food for the body is earthly food. If the body is weak, it looks down to the earth. But the earth also speaks and gives a lot of evil things to the body. However, of the three, we have control only over the body. It is in this will and power that we must exercise our firm faith and trust in our Creator when we encounter any problem or difficulty. He will show us the way” ,  Lead Apostle added.

“Whatever is made by man is vanity; our buildings, perfectly built by using cement, iron rods and gravels cannot stand the power of God, it will surely wither and collapse. In the era of Jesus, the disciples came and showed Jesus how beautiful the city of Jerusalem looks like but Jesus responded by telling them it will surely pass away despite its beauty. Many great people have passed on, we do not know when it will be our turn, therefore let us not concentrate only on our bodies nor belongings which will eventually pass away but rather concentrate on our spirit and soul which will have everlasting life” concluded the Lead Apostle.

Apostle Paul Yaw Kyeremeh and District Rector Emmanuel Aduo Amponsah assisted the service.
