“We are in grief bidding farewell to a woman who lived well. A woman who bore an Apostle for the Lord, who preached the word in this Apostle working area and led the conversion of many unto the Lord. Beloved, there are three (3) things set up for man. One is the inevitable; Death which does not regard the stature and fame of anyone. The remaining two (2) is a matter of choice for you.”

These were the introductory words shared by Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo, when he conducted the funeral service of the late Sister Comfort Ofosua, mother of retired Apostle Andrews Boakye, at Abepotia (Nkawkaw Apostle Working Area) on Saturday, April 23, 2023. He was accompanied by Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya, Apostle Opoku-Mensah (Nkawkaw), as well as 14 other Apostles and 1 Bishop.

The Southern Ghana Lead Apostle on this occasion provided comfort for the family and mourning congregation with a bible word from Hebrews 9:27-28; “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.”

Elaborating on the bible word, the Lead Apostle said, death was a curse given unto mankind from the garden of Eden, and awaits everyone regardless of Jesus Christ’s return. He referred to his uncle, a fetish priest, who travelled to seek death protection charms from Baule in Ivory Coast. At the point of his death on a hospital bed, and suffering so much, gave up his protective charm which resulted in his immediate death. “Whichever protection my uncle had; it could not save him. Brethren, there is nothing that can save us from death, No! The only protection we have is the Holy Spirit, which is the greatest of all.”

He added: “Death is inevitable but the remaining two (2) is your choice as stated in Apostle Paul’s letter to the Hebrews. Mankind has a choice to either die unto Judgement or Grace. The bible tells us that, not everyone would face judgement as preached all over. But if all humans are to face judgement, then what is the essence of Christ’s entry into this world, His grace and purpose?” The Lead Apostle asked.

The Lead Apostle continued: “There is a special dispensation on our behalf; which is grace made possible by Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul made us understand that, it is appointed for men to die once, after judgement. Now, Christ has been offered in our stead so that those who believe in Jesus Christ will not face judgement but have eternal life. This woman lying here listened and accepted the doctrine of the Apostles. This is why I say to you, wipe your tears for her because she is in a good place awaiting the Lord’s return. Rather, ask yourself whether you would die unto grace or judgement. In the book of John 1:17 which reads, “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Preferably, most of us would follow the law, judge others by the law but such a path would not grant us eternal life.  Brethren, have you heard of the first resurrection? Will judgement occur at the same time?”

The bible tells us that, when Christ returns, both the dead and living in Christ will be caught up in the clouds and shall reign with Him in the Kingdom of Heaven for three and half years. “Are you prepared for the First Resurrection? Do you obey God’s commandments? Do you love God with all your heart, strength and love your neighbours as yourself? One thing that scares me is as Christians, we rebuke our enemies rather than loving them as taught us by Christ.”

Concluding the sermon, Lead Apostle stated, “The world must know, there is grace and judgement. As we live our lives, let us us make a choice of where to be because no one can grant us salvation except by the Father in Heaven. Therefore, seek the grace of the Father so that after death, we shall rise again.”
