“We shall leave behind all fame, power and wealth. Let us focus more on the spiritual; especially to love one another and live wholly for the Lord before a day like this comes upon us” said Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo when he conducted the funeral service for the Late District Rector (Retired) Samuel Kwabena Attuah Boakye on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Anum Boso, in the Tosen District, Volta South Apostle Working Area. He was accompanied by Apostles Osei, Kuada and Poku-Akubia.
The funeral service was based on a bible word from 1 Corinthians 15:19-21, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.”
The Lead Apostle continued: “Regardless of our earthly situations, we shall continually praise God who is the origin of all life. Is the life of man all about the goodies and or the travails of this world? We may attain all the possessions of this earth, yet the end thereof of the flesh is the grave. This is the present condition of our dear brother.”
Elaborating on the bible word, the Lead Apostle emphasized that the focus of our childhood on God is to attain eternal fellowship with God. In present times, there are some who believe in God with the purpose of living a trouble-free life. To others, to be a Christian means wealth acquisition, good health, good marriage and power over enemies.
Lead Apostle Ohene-Saffo further admonished the mourners to pursue love, forgiveness of sins, the sacraments and the Apostolate through which one can lay hands on the resurrection day.
