The youth in the Ada District of the Volta South Apostle came together over the weekend of 21st to 24th September, 2023, at the Addokope congregation. Participants were drawn from seven congregations in the Ada district to learn, socialize and also fellowship with one another.

The youth arrived on Thursday, September 21. On Friday and Saturday, the youth undertook a series of activities which include:

• Singing competition;
• Talk on drug abuse and its effect on the youth and the country
• Seminar on holy baptism and holy sealing
• Talk on the topic, “The role of the youth in church development”
• Fun games
• Dinner night (Included the recognition of some committed members of the youth)

Divine service
On Sunday 24th September, 2023, the youth camp was climaxed with a divine service conducted by Apostle Anthony Kuada – Volta South Apostle area. He was assisted by District Rector Bismark Awudey and Priest Dela Agbozo. Over 120 members participated in the divine service.

The divine service was based on a bible word from Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

The Apostle encouraged members and assured them of the help of God in all situations of life and called for unflinching support from the youth in building the work of God.

‘You are the salt of the earth, do not lose your flavour to the world” the Apostle stressed.  He further exhorted members to occupy themselves daily with the gospel of Jesus Christ and live it in all spheres of life, thereby becoming shining examples in society.

“We want to be filled with love for God and our neighbour, we want to live like Jesus Christ” averred the Apostle.” He also entreated the youth to develop themselves with skills and work hard to achieve their spiritual and material goals. He advised against evil and all its associated routes.

The Apostle in his conclusion, congratulated the youth for heeding the call of their leaders and making the weekend event a success. He exhorted them be good ambassadors of the gospel and lend their full support to the development of the church.
