Shirley, Madina
3 January 2024

As the year 2023 ended, a number of our young adult and working-class sisters took time to share what they were thankful for in the year gone by.

Shirley, Sunday School Teacher, Madina: I'm grateful for life most importantly. God has been good to me and my family. I’m grateful for the opportunities and experiences that 2023 has brought me. I've been able to impact lives through my work, meet new people, and learn new things. I'm also grateful for the progress we’ve made as a congregation (Madina) not allowing certain challenges to limit our growth. Finally, I'm thankful for the support of my friends and family, who have been there for me through thick and thin.

Rachel, Chorister, Konongo: I’m grateful for His blessings and favours.

Perfect, Chorister, Adenta: In a year that tested us all, I'm most grateful that I'm still at His throne of grace. I'm also grateful for the resilience through all obstacles, challenges and the remarkable breakthroughs beyond comprehension. May the Lord bless and give us all victory.

Elorm, Member, London: Life, and the fact that I’m privileged to be a child of God.

Lily, Musician and Chorister, Accra Central: Well, I'm grateful for life, for good health, for my senses, for my family and my tiny circle of friends and their achievements for new opportunities that came my way, for doors that my skills and talents opened for me, and places that they led me to. I'm grateful for travelling to some beautiful places, for some few disappointments, for love, and for music.

Adei, Chorister, East Legon: My life, my health, my progress in faith, my family and friends.

Afua, Chorister and Youth leader, Birmingham: I am grateful for the favour God continues to show on my family. I am also grateful for my Birmingham NAC family for their love and support.

Serwaa, Youth Member, Glasgow: I’m grateful for the things God has taught me this year; patience, contentment and dependence on Him.

Adoma, Youth Member, London: I’m grateful for God’s blessings on my family and the opportunity to study for a Master’s degree abroad.

Doreen, Member, Dublin: My life really. And my family, especially my dad. Oh, and also my sanity.

Loretta, Chorister and youth leader, Tema: I’m very grateful for the grace that keeps me alive. 2023 came with its own ‘wahala’ but to have supportive family and friends around, good health...I’m very grateful.

Grace, Chorister, Gbawe: I am most grateful to God for His protection and guidance, grace and favour upon me and my children. I am also grateful to my friends and family for their love and care.
