The Wiawso Apostle Working Area, led by Apostle Augustus Adika Lavoe, have inaugurated an Annual Sunday School Week celebration for children in all twelve districts within the Working Area. Last year’s celebration was based on the theme, ‘Raising Godly Children for a Good Purpose (Ephesians 6: 4)’.

The celebration was climaxed on 24th December 2023, at Kwame Tawiah Krom (KTK) in the Debiso District which saw about seven congregations gracing the program.

Little Addae Mensah Richardson, a young Sunday School boy from KTK, addressed the gathering at the beginning of the celebration, highlighting how good Christian education by their Sunday School teachers has transformed their minds and behaviours.

Following are highlights of the week’s celebrations.

There was a well-organized choreography performed by Debiso Sunday School. Children from KTK also performed another entertaining choreography which was enjoyed by the numerous gathering present.

Poem Recital
Sisters Clara and Louisa, from Debiso, recited a poem titled, ‘The name I love’. Brother Listowel, also from Debiso Sunday school recited the books of the Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi which attracted a lot of applauds from the gathering.

The Debiso Sunday school performed a drama led by Madam Bernice which was titled ‘the birth of Christ’.

Bible quiz
There was a general bible quiz competition among the Sunday School children from the following congregations: Asuontaa, Adjoafua, KTK, Debiso, Essam, Kjoaba and Yawmatwa.  Adjoafua Sunday School emerged the winners at the end of the competition.

Bringing the celebrations to a close, District Rector Oppong, who spoke on behalf of the Apostle, said: “I am really happy for these children, and I hope this continues every year. NAC belongs to us all so we should do our best to collectively hold it up well so that when we’re gone, these children will continue the great work we’re doing now”.
