The Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo undertook a two-days working visit to the Takoradi Apostle Working Area, in the Western Region of Ghana. He spent time with members of the Bamiankor and Kyekyewere districts.
On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the Lead Apostle was hosted by the Asasetre congregation in the Bamiankor district. The message from the Apostle to the members present was based on Luke 10:27, ‘So he answered and said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.”’
In his opening remarks, the Lead Apostle explained the difference between ‘sin and inherited sin’. He said sin is an act of offense against God, your neighbour and yourselves; whether in your thoughts, actions, or your mind is considered as a sin. Contrasting with inherited sin, he explained that this is sin passed down from one generation to the next. In contrast to the idea that people are born neutral and without the stain of sin, Scripture indicates we are born with a sinful nature that is inherited from our parents and the generations parents before them. He added that when we become Christians it does not automatically erase that sin but there is a way to go about it. “That is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ.”
He continued: “The first three commandments alone require total dedication to God and the remaining seven are towards your fellow human being.”
Under the law.
Dwelling on the text word, which was inspired by the encounter between Jesus and the lawyer, the Lead Apostle explained that obeying the laws alone was not enough for man to attain eternal life.
“In the past, judgments were attached to these laws which made it difficult for man to obey”, he said. “But in our fallen, sinful state we realize that we can never, ever love the Lord our God as He requires. Christ has courteously pointed out that inheriting eternal life through the works of the Law was a no-no for fallen sinners. By the works of the Law shall no man living be justified”, he added.
Under the grace
“Salvation is by grace alone, through faith, for there is no other way to the Father, except through the Son who gave His life as a ransom for all who believe in Him. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law on our behalf for the forgiveness of sins and that is what we practice in our Church by receiving the three sacraments. Each one of these sacraments has a specific role they play in our lives”, said Lead Apostle as he explained.
He concluded by saying to the congregants: “No minister is here to sell the gospel. Our victory is in the Lord Jesus Christ, our victory unto redemption is based on our faith and faith in the Apostle's ministry.”
The Ghana Church leader was assisted by Apostle Sam, Bishop Ampofo, District Rectors Nuarmh (Bamiankor), and District Rector Asuah (Takoradi North)
