Nkawkaw Choir @ 25
13 May 2024

It was all merry at the Nkawkaw Central Church as the District Choir celebrated 25 years of song ministration on the 1st  May, 2024. The colourful event attracted many brothers and sisters as well as dignitaries within the Nkawkaw district and beyond.

Following an opening prayer and short address by  Apostle Isaac Opoku Mensah, District Elder Gyimah narrated the history of the Nkawkaw Choir, highlighting some interesting facts:

  • The choir began with 5 members in 1999
  • It grew to a strength of 45 choristers in a few years
  • Current strength is 20, due to rural-urban migration
  • District Rector Gyimah is the current choirmaster

Concluding his address, he encouraged all to support the choir in its many endeavours. He specially entreated the Youth to join the choir.

He also advised all choristers to offer their talents and sacrifices to God and His work in whichever congregation they may find themselves as part of their life’s journey. They should not limit their offerings and sacrifices only to Nkawkaw. “Together, let’s help the work of God, and the Church choir to grow, be it in Ghana or anywhere else in the world”, he said.
