In a display of faith and resilience, Apostle George Sam joined the Kakukrom congregation in the Bamiankor District on June 23, 2024, for a heartfelt service despite the heavy downpour that ravaged the church building.
The service was a beautiful reminder that the church is not the building, but a community of believers. The Apostle's presence was a source of comfort and strength to the congregation, in the face of their struggles.
The text word used for the service was taken from John 4: 21-22, “Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.”
Message of Hope and Encouragement
The Apostle addressed the congregation, offering words of encouragement and hope. “Do not be discouraged by this setback” the Apostle said. “Instead, see it as an opportunity to rebuild and restore, not just the physical building, but also your spiritual foundation.” The Apostle's visit was a reminder that even in the darkest times, there is always hope. The Apostle's message of faith, resilience, and determination was a source of inspiration to the congregation.
Worshipping God
Ending the service, the Apostle highlighted the importance of true worship. He said worship is not limited to a specific place. He continued that the Samaritans worshiped God, but their understanding was incomplete; true worship comes from a heart that understands God and the knowledge of God. The Apostle was assisted by District Rector Numarh, Deputy Rector Nkrumah, and Rector Ebenle.
Assessment and Restoration Efforts
The Apostle, accompanied by the District leaders, conducted a thorough inspection of the building after the service, assessing and surveying the damage caused by the water and identifying areas that required urgent attention. The Apostle also offered advice and guidance on the restoration process, drawing from the experience and knowledge of similar past situations. The Apostle offered a special blessing for the restoration efforts, asking that the building be restored to its former glory for the glory of God.
