14 September 2024

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, the mother of the Apostle for the Sefwi Working Area, Sister Ame Korfietor, was laid to rest at Mepe, in the Battor District. The service was conducted by Apostle Nortey.

Also in attendance were 12 active Apostles, a Bishop, 2 retired Apostles and about 150 brothers and sisters.

The service was based on 2 Corinthians 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

In summary, Apostle Nortey (Konongo Working Area) consoled the family and encouraged them to draw strength from the Lord. In his sermon, the Konongo Working Area leader urged the gathering to strive to attain the heavenly bodies that is “eternal in the heavens”. He further explained that the text word reminds us of an eternal life beyond this earth, and that our lives on earth is temporal.

As part of his sermon, the Apostle also eulogized Sister Ame Korfietor as “a gift to us, for through her, we have an Apostle and also at her funeral, we have the opportunity to listen to the word of God.”

He encouraged the members to keep their trust in Jesus Christ for He will not disappoint us and that He will come to take His own home when the time is due.
