It was all joy at Sefwi Essam-Debiso, when youth from all the twelve districts within the Wiawso Apostle Area converged at Bia Senior High Technical School (Essam-Debiso) to grace this year’s Annual Youth Convention from Thursday, 26th September, 2024 to Sunday, 29th September 2024. The theme for this year’s convention, Inner Transformation, was inspired by Luke 15:17-18.
The day-to-day activities was packed with entertaining, educative and spiritual building programs spread across the three days spent at the convention.
Day 1: Arrivals
Participants from all the twelve Districts within the Apostle arrived safely on Thursday, 26th September, 2024 and were successfully lodged at their dormitories. There was a welcome address and introduction of District Leaders by Sister Winnifred Manso, the Youth Leader for Essam-Debiso, at the welcome opening gathering.
Day 2: Talks, dance choreography & drama
Apostle Augustus Adika-Lavoe officially opened the Annual Youth Convention. There were discussions on the History of the New Apostolic Church, Positive Mental Health and Well Being, Teachings on Offering and the Act of Giving, were successfully executed. In the evening, the Sunday School from Boako District entertained the participants with a choreography, followed by a drama performance. Friday’s event came to an end with a talk on Sexual Misconduct by District Rector Brafi.
Day 3: Town Float, vocational skills, sports & Bible quiz
All participants engaged in a float across the principal streets of Sefwi Essam-Debiso. Back from the float, participants converged at the Bia Senior High Technical School Assembly Hall to experience a workshop on making liquid soap and detergents. In the afternoon, participants engaged in sporting activities; Wiawso District emerged the overall winners. Later in the evening, Sunday School children from Boako District thrilled the participants with a wonderful choreography performance. There was also a Bible Quiz among the twelve Districts of which the Boako District emerged the victors.
