The people of Nkawkaw Central enjoyed a memorable Thanksgiving Day as they gathered to celebrate the special divine service with their District Rector, Joseph Gyimah.
The District leader read a text from Psalm 145:2-3 “Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.”
District Rector Gyimah began his sermon by thanking the congregants for all their offerings to decorate the altar and also for their turnout in numbers.
Basing his sermon on the text word, the leader highlighted that God:
- is good and blesses all the time
- blesses those who make Him the focal point of their lives and praise Him daily
- manifests Himself in our lives only when focus on Him and give Him all praise and authority in our matters
“The presentation of these offerings explains how we individually understand God, praise and make Him the focus of our lives”, he said.
Using David as an example, the District Rector how God influenced the affairs of David because he (David) made Him the pivot of his life. Hence, the defeat of Goliath without any amour.
District Rector Gyimah added that making Christ the focus in our lives would allow us to experience the effects of His words as well as His promises to mankind. “Christ is with us and so we are not alone. Let us remain steadfast in prayers to activate the Holy Spirit in us to continue to focus on Jesus, and feel His nearness and presence.”
The District Rector was assisted by Shepherd Eric Donkor and Priests Awuah and Isaac. There were 245 members in attendance.
