On Sunday October 6, 2024, Osu congregation showed a lot of passion and joy in celebrating this year’s Thanksgiving Day. The special divine service led by Deputy District Rector Karel Ben Sekyi De-Heer was filled with heartfelt hymns sang by both the choir & congregants, and accompanied by an ensemble of organ, trumpet, and trombone.

A Day of Gratitude
Osu Congregation's Thanksgiving Day was a vibrant expression of praise, prayer, thanks and sharing. As the congregation looks forward to another year of God’s blessings and gifts, the spirit of gratitude and community will continue to flourish.

Sharing God's Blessings and Gifts
In line with the Church's emphasis on loving God and one's neighbour, the gift offerings used to decorate the altar for the occasion, were distributed among vulnerable members of the congregation such as the elderly, sick, and the less fortunate. The congregation also enjoyed a short fellowship after service enjoying natural fruit drinks and pastries. The Sunday School children were also not left out as they also shared in the fellowship.

Prayer and Reflection
Ministers from other congregations joined Osu ministers after the divine service for their monthly Ministers’ meeting. As part of the meeting they offered prayers of thanksgiving, reflected on the year's motto, “Prayer works!”. They also discussed plans for the upcoming visit of the Chief Apostle in November.
