On the 8th of December 2024, the Bowohombodzen congregation in the Takoradi South district was blessed to hear a great sermon from the Apostle George Sam, based on the angelic message delivered to Mary in the Gospel of Luke. The Apostle's words brought new insight and understanding to this familiar passage, he said God's visitation is not limited by our background or circumstances. Reminding us of God's promise to reverse the fortunes of the humble and the mighty.
The text word, Luke 1:52-53, for the service read: “He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.”
The Apostle's sermon highlighted the profound implications of this message. In a world where the mighty often seem to hold sway, God's promise to reverse the fortunes of the humble and the mighty is a powerful reminder of His justice and mercy.
The Apostle emphasized that it does not matter where we come from or what our situation may be. When our time is due, the Lord will surely visit us, just as He did for Mary. This message of hope and promise is a reminder that God is a God of surprises, and that He can visit us at any moment, regardless of our past or present circumstances.
He continued, “This message is not just a promise for the future, but a present reality that can be experienced by all who put their trust in God. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can experience the reversal of our fortunes, from darkness to light, from poverty to abundance, and from despair to hope.”
“Let us hold onto the promise of God's visitation, and let us continue to trust in His goodness and faithfulness. May we always be open to His surprises, and may we always be ready to receive His visitation in our lives”, said by the Apostle as he ended the service.
The service was supported by District Rectors Fenyi (Takoradi South) and Asuah (Takoradi North)
