District Elder Stephen Anim goes to rest
14 April 2025

On Saturday, April 4, 2025, Apostle Augustus Adika-Lavoe delivered an inspiring sermon about our preparedness towards death at the funeral service for the late District Elder Stephen Anim at the Beposo Community Funeral grounds in the Wiawso Apostle Working Area. Also in attendance were retired Apostles Edward Nzimah (Wiawso Apostle Area) and Benjamin Darko (Dunkwaw Apostle Area), Bishop Kesse (Kintampo Apostle Area) and other retired District Rectors in the Wiawso Apostle Area.

The text word for the service was taken from 2 Kings 20:1 “In those days Ezekiel became ill and was at a point of death. The prophet Isaiah, son of Amos, went to Him and said, ‘This is what the Lord says: put your house in order, because you are going to die: you will not recover.”

Speaking to the gathering, Apostle Lavoe explained that death is inevitable. “Everyone here will die one day. No one knows when, but one day we shall all die. It is good for man to die and after his death there is judgement.”
Summarising his sermon, the Apostle asked all gathered: “What preparations have you made for your soul to face judgement after your death?” He brought his sermon to a close citing the spiritual preparations for the afterlife the departed District Elder. “Our late brother here has prepared a place for his soul by laying down his life for Christ and that is what we should strive hard to achieve before our death.”
