The Takoradi District Choir delivered a memorable choral concert on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Kojokrom Congregation under the theme “Carry Your Candle.” The event treated patrons to an evening of inspiring music, outstanding performances, and heartfelt fellowship.
Showcasing exceptional vocal excellence and a deep passion for ministry through music, both the Takoradi District Choir and the Children’s Choir captivated the audience with a rich and diverse repertoire. Their performances once again affirmed the district’s reputation for excellence in choral music.
The programme commenced with welcoming remarks from Area Choir Master District Elder Fenyi and his assistant, Community Evangelist Morris. An opening prayer by Apostle George Sam set a reverent tone for the evening, paving the way for a highly anticipated musical experience. Guests were then taken on a remarkable journey through a blend of classical compositions and contemporary favourites, delivered with precision, harmony, and enthusiasm.
Adding to the occasion were guest performances by the Sekondi Choir, as well as inspiring solo renditions that further enriched the concert and kept the audience engaged throughout the night.
A major highlight of the evening was the grand finale, during which the Takoradi District Choir and the Children’s Choir joined voices to perform “Wo Nkoara.” The moving presentation brought the concert to a stirring close, leaving a lasting impression on all in attendance.
In his address, Apostle George Sam underscored the significance of the concert as a celebration of music’s power to inspire, unite, and transform lives. He encouraged greater collaboration among choirs across districts and commended the dedication, creativity, and excellence displayed by the performers.
“As we gather to celebrate the unifying force of music, we honour the dedication and excellence embodied by our choir. May the melodies of Carry Your Candle uplift and unite us. Let us cherish the talent and collaborative spirit that have brought us together tonight, include choirs from other districts, revel in the joy of music, and celebrate the spirit of unity that makes this evening truly special.”
The event concluded with a closing prayer by Bishop Thomas Ampofo. The occasion was graced by ministers from both the Takoradi Apostle Area and the Cape Coast Apostle Area, making it a truly memorable night of worship, music, and unity.
