The adage, “A teacher must first learn,” aptly captures the essence of a two-day refresher seminar organized for local trainers in the Volta North Apostle Area. Held in Hohoe from 24–25 July 2026, the seminar brought together trainers for intensive learning, reflection, and skills enhancement. The sessions were facilitated by Senior Tutors, Apostle Alexander Poku-Akubia and District Elder Peter Akai.

In his opening remarks, Apostle Alexander Poku-Akubia highlighted the importance of continuous learning for ministers and teachers. Referencing Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpens iron,” he emphasized that such seminars play a vital role in strengthening the knowledge and effectiveness of those entrusted with teaching within the Church. He noted that enhanced understanding of the New Apostolic faith would ultimately benefit members through more impactful instruction in adult education, Sunday School, confirmation classes, and youth activities.

Throughout the seminar, participants actively engaged in presentations and in-depth discussions on a range of topics drawn from the training modules, including Basics 1–3, Minister 2, and Sunday School. Practical role-play exercises were also incorporated, enabling participants to apply key concepts and demonstrate the real-life relevance of the lessons learned.

Bringing the seminar to a close, Apostle Poku-Akubia encouraged the local trainers to replicate the training at their respective lower levels in the coming weeks. He further urged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, commitment, and enthusiasm, ensuring that the knowledge gained would continue to strengthen teaching and learning across the Apostle Area.
