The three-day Youth Convention of the Volta North Apostle Area concluded with a Divine Service conducted by Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo at Okadjakrom Secondary Technical School in the Jasikan District. The service attracted more than 300 participants, including youth members and brethren from surrounding congregations. The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostles Alexander Poku-Akubia (Volta North), Anthony Kuada (Volta South), Richard Osei (Volta Central), and several district ministers.

 The Divine Service was based on Jonah 4:10-11, highlighting God's compassion for humanity and His desire that all souls attain salvation: “But the Lord said, ‘You have had pity on the plant for which you have not laboured, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left, and much livestock?’” In his introductory remarks, the Lead Apostle expressed his joy at meeting the brethren, especially the youth, and encouraged them to remain steadfast in the New Apostolic faith while focusing on the ultimate goal of eternal fellowship with God.

From Law to Grace
Drawing lessons from the account of Jonah and Nineveh, the Lead Apostle explained that although humanity fell under the curse of sin through disobedience, God's love made a way for salvation through Jesus Christ. He emphasized that believers are saved by God's grace and not by their own ability to perfectly fulfil the law.

Jonah’s Mission to Nineveh
Reflecting on Jonah's mission to Nineveh, he recounted how the city's inhabitants repented after hearing God's word. Their sincere repentance moved God to withhold the punishment that had been pronounced against them, demonstrating His boundless mercy toward those who turn away from sin.

Jonah’s Displeasure
The Lead Apostle also highlighted Jonah's displeasure when God spared Nineveh and drew attention to God's response regarding the withered plant. Through this example, he emphasized that every soul is precious in God's sight and that God's concern for people far exceeds concern for material things.

Lessons for the Church Today
Applying the biblical account to present-day Christian life, the Lead Apostle cautioned against judging or condemning others. He reminded the congregation that all people depend on God's mercy and that believers should rejoice when sinners repent rather than desire their punishment. He further stressed that it is the responsibility of the Apostolate to preach the gospel without prejudice, making God's grace accessible to all who hear and believe.

Love, Grace and Salvation for All
In conclusion, the Lead Apostle urged members to shun sin, seek forgiveness, and take delight in the salvation of others. He encouraged the congregation to pray for their enemies, show love and compassion, and actively participate in Divine Services, where God provides the means necessary for the preparation of His children for eternal life.
